At the end of October 2024, the Fundació Primavera Sound welcomed the third edition of its «Create your own Festival» initiative, a project that has evolved over the three years of its existence and continues to strengthen its commitment to education and youth empowerment. Created to offer young people a platform to explore music, technology and cultural creation, this educational programme continues to make a difference in the teaching of new generations of creators.

This year, «Create your own Festival» once again involves three secondary schools in Barcelona: IT Besòs, IT ITAE, and IT Maragall. The Baccalaureate students take a year course in which, through training and practice, they learn how a festival works from the inside. The pupils are divided into different departments (production, communication, booking, etc.) to create a festival that will take place at the end of May 2025. Specialised teaching staff and Primavera Sound staff teach the classes, providing them with the necessary tools to live the experience of organising a festival in real life.

The collaboration between the Fundació Primavera Sound and these secondary schools reinforces the connection with the young people and the educational community of the city. Students can put their knowledge into practice and work collaboratively in a creative and professional environment, while developing valuable skills that they can apply in the future workplace.

This year, «Create Your Own Festival» is also enhanced by the collaboration of Teens Media Network (TMN), a global platform that supports young people’s creative careers in culture and entertainment. TMN has been present from the start of this course, documenting the event and conducting interviews with participants, allowing young people to amplify their voices and share their experiences in the world of digital creation. Through this collaboration, the young people of «Create Your Own Festival» have been able to get involved in the production of multimedia content, including photography, videography and writing, to document and narrate their own musical projects.

The Fundació Primavera Sound remains committed to its mission of transforming the musical experience into a tool for learning, personal and professional development for young people. Through «Create your own Festival», the Fundació not only encourages musical creation, but also teamwork, innovation and cultural expression. With the support of TMN and the continuous relationship with the educational community of Barcelona, this project has become a benchmark in the cultural education of young people, inviting them to dream, create and be an active part of an inclusive and diverse cultural future.
