INITIATIVES
Since its inception, the Primavera Sound Group has carried out a series of highly socially responsible actions aimed at promoting inclusion, innovation and sustainability through culture and music. Over the years, these efforts have been focused and channelled through the Primavera Sound Fundació, created to extend the impact of these initiatives globally, starting from local projects with the support of the networks, human resources and infrastructures of the Primavera Sound Group.
Education and Outreach
Since its inception, the Primavera Sound Fundació has been committed to education as a tool for promoting the personal and professional growth of new generations, with special attention to creativity and musical art.
- BeatSchoolBeatSchool: Fundació Primavera Sound promotes a musical education project in Sant Adrià de Besòs
- Create Your Own FestivalCourse aimed at secondary school students in Barcelona, where they learn how to organise a music festival, developing practical and organisational skills in the live music industry.
- Primaveres ExperiènciesA free cycle for 1st and 2nd year secondary school students at La (2) de Apolo in Barcelona and the MEDUSA recording studios, which brings together young people with different professionals from the world of music who will share with them the songs that have marked their careers.
Promotion of small and medium-sized CCIs with a special focus on the music industry
The Fundació Primavera Sound supports the development of the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), with a special focus on small and medium-sized music companies. The aim is to promote innovation and sustainability, helping these companies to grow and prosper.
- Primavera ProThe Fundació has collaborated, within the Primavera Sound Group, in the organisation of Primavera Pro. As well as being a platform for dissemination and reflection, Primavera Pro offers a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration for small and medium-sized cultural and music companies, favouring the internationalisation of artists and companies.
Diversity and gender equality for and from culture
One of the Fundació’s pillars is the promotion of gender equality in culture and the music industry. Through projects that promote diversity and inclusion, the Fundació has distinguished itself as a leader in the implementation of gender equality policies at major cultural events.
- Nobody Is NormalPrimavera Sound Barcelona’s protocol for a festival free of sexual aggression and discrimination.
- The New NormalIn 2019, Primavera Sound became the first major international festival to achieve a gender-balanced line-up. «The New Normal» was the name of the campaign that presented the project, making the festival a benchmark and an inspiration within the global industry.
Sustainability and Global Impact
The Fundació Primavera Sound has its sights set on the future to bring it closer to the present, everything surrounding the music at the festival has the responsibility to help guarantee that future. Aware of the consequences of a great cultural event that attracts attendees from all over the world, but also of its inspirational capital and the media attention it enjoys, with the vision of the Fundació Primavera Sound the festival continues to take steps to be an event that is more aware of its surroundings every day.
