ABOUT US
Since its inception, the Primavera Sound Group has carried out a series of highly socially responsible actions aimed at promoting inclusion, innovation and sustainability through culture and music. Over the years, these efforts have been focused and channelled through the Fundació Primavera Sound created to extend the impact of these initiatives globally, starting from local projects.
Today, the Fundació operates in four main areas, each with projects and programmes that are focused on promoting education, creativity, gender equality and sustainability.
We believe that culture is a driving force for a sustainable future
The Fundació Primavera Sound is a non-profit organisation that promotes culture as a driver of sustainable development, innovation, inclusion and social cohesion. Our aim is to inspire a new generation of dynamic citizens who, through culture, art and music, can transform their future and that of their communities.
We are convinced that culture is not only an artistic expression, but a key element in addressing global and local challenges. We promote the value of creativity and cultural diversity as tools for economic growth and sustainability, covering key issues such as social cohesion, ecological transition, digitalisation and intergenerational parity.
The purpose of this website is to organise and give visibility to the initiatives and campaigns promoted by Primavera Sound and, more recently, by the Fundació over the last twenty years, reflecting our constant evolution in the promotion of culture as a motor for change.
Mission and vision
Music is never just music. It is also the expression of a time and a place; it is a cohesive energy and a shared language that can bring worlds together. In just the same way music festivals are never just music festivals. They are also a reflection of the present, a product of their environment and an opportunity to encourage inspiration and, consequently, also social transformation.
The Fundació Primavera Sound is to a large extent the practical demonstration of all the ideas that the Barcelona festival has sought to take beyond the theoretical plane. This is why for over 20 years Primavera Sound has been committed not only to live music, but also to the values that can be transmitted thanks to the reputation and visibility of the different events that take place in Barcelona, with the festival as its greatest exponent. A festival that every year mobilises 6000 workers and over 200,000 attendees from different generations from all over the world.
Culture for development, well-being and innovation
Our mission is to foster the dissemination and popularisation of culture, offering educational, professional and creative opportunities to people from all backgrounds. We work to make culture accessible to everyone, promoting inclusion, well-being and active participation. We promote the role of culture in digitisation, sustainability and innovation, paying particular attention to its capacity to generate positive social impact and contribute to the growth of cultural and creative industries. We believe that culture is fundamental to promote gender diversity and to fight against any kind of discrimination, creating fair and inclusive spaces for all.
Through local, European and international programmes, events and partnerships, we support projects that use culture as a lever for change. From supporting young artists and creative people to setting up spaces where cultural innovation can thrive, we amplify voices and initiatives that build a fairer and more sustainable world. We believe that culture is an essential element for individual and collective well-being, and that it can contribute to the prosperity of European citizens, fostering a fairer and more inclusive society.
A global commitment to culture and prosperity
The Fundació Primavera Sound operates at local, European and international levels, collaborating with partners who are committed to promoting the value of culture for sustainable development and greater social and territorial cohesion. We believe that culture is a key tool in cultural diplomacy, helping to strengthen ties between countries and to promote peace, global stability and prosperity in European communities. Each project we support responds to the specific needs of communities, generating real, lasting impacts, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate neutrality.
We believe in a future in which culture is the catalyst for positive social change, that can build more inclusive, resilient, competitive and innovative societies.
